I have a love/hate relationship with running. I only started running just this past January 2012. Before that time, the thought of running never...even...entered...my...mind. It wasn't something I thought I could do. All of that changed this past January. I hopped on a treadmill, and couldn't hardly run for 1-minute without being out of breath. So much for thinking I was in shape playing tennis once a week. Anyways, I started...slowly and painfully, but I have kept plugging along. Running can teach you a few things in the character department....things like...patience....endurance....not giving up when it's hard....enjoying good runs...getting through bad runs....etc. I used a run/walk program and would run 1 minute, walk 5 minutes....for a mile or two. Then, run 2 minutes, walk 5 minutes. Run 3 minutes, walk 5 minutes...and so forth. I can now run 3 miles, but it is at a very slow pace. That's okay with me. I am enjoying something I never dreamed or even thought I would...so, I'll just keep running along.
My goals this week and moving forward in this area.....I would like to get to the point of running 20 miles per week. That's 4 days at 5 miles each, or 5 days at 4 miles each. This is going to take a little time to get there, but it's a goal, and goals are good.
Running Schedule this week:
Day 1= 4 miles
Day 2= 3 miles + weights
Day 3= 4 miles
Day 4= 3 miles + weights.....Lord-willing!
